Born in New York City and raised in London, she began her career as a model, appearing in the pages of Italian Vogue and for the 2003 Pirelli Calendar. Ruth Wilson (born 13 January 1982) is an English actress. She has played the title character in Jane Eyre (2006), Alice Morgan in the BBC psychological crime drama Luther (2010–2013, 2019), Alison Lockhart in the Showtime drama The Affair (2014–2018), and the title character in Mrs Wilson (2018).
